24th January 2018. Cardiff. Sequence and the North Wales Police Force have launched a new Android app for police officers in North Wales to improve efficiency whilst out on patrol.
Built in Xamarin, the app is developed to help police officers make faster and more informed decisions whilst dealing with various types of local crime. Connecting police officers to a data set to provide better access to critical information, support operations and ensuring better data accuracy.
The custom-built app, running on Samsung devices, is being issued to 1,350 frontline officers across North Wales.
The launch of the app follows a significant amount of work to understand the operational requirements, which included research, workshops and observation to ensure that the new app is completely user-centric from a design perspective.
Richard Shearman, Solutions Director at Sequence, said: “We’re excited to be working within the entire North Wales region from Caernarfon to Holyhead to Wrexham and looking to make policing – and the lives of those officers using the app – easier, making them more efficient with their jobs whatever level of IT competency.”

This current release will give offices access to a wide database of people, vehicles and addresses directly at the scene, eliminating the need to request information from another officer at the station. In addition, the app provides tasking and electronic forms functionality, increasing the efficiency of officers in the field.
