Sequence are delighted to be able to continue their support of Welsh sport after winning a two year contract for the provision of ongoing web services for the Sports Council Wales, which will include an ambitious total redesign and development of their web portfolio.

After securing the contract, Sequence worked hard to establish a clear plan for the Council on how they could deliver a truly world class solution that will help gain further international recognition for Wales as a nation with a dynamic and thriving sporting culture.

The Sports Council for Wales is the national organisation responsible for developing sport and physical activity. Supported by the Welsh Assembly Government, its aim is to provide opportunities for everyone to participate in sport and physical activity whatever the background or ability, as well as developing those individuals with potential into medal-winning performers.

Sequence have excellent development experience with several sporting websites, in particular Cardiff Blues, Wales Watersports and Disability Sport Cymru. With this level of expertise, Sequence is perfectly suited for this current project, and with a long-standing relationship with the Sports Council for Wales, the Sequence team has many innovative and exciting ideas to offer.

Richard Hyett, Sequence Account Director commented on the win, "It’s great that we are able to work with the Sports Council for the 5th year running. Sport in Wales is constantly improving and growing in stature, and we’re thrilled to be involved with the development of such an important tool for developing sport and physical activity."

Richard continued, "When you look at it Welsh sport has really never been better. With the success of the Welsh rugby squad in the Six Nations, the brilliant Paralympics result in Athens and the 2010 Ryder Cup, it’s really great for us to be involved, and we’re delighted to be awarded this contract as it helps us make sure the Council are getting the most from the web."

Stuart John of the Sports Council for Wales commented, "We’ve worked with Sequence for several years now, however this latest commission is focused at really beginning to unlock the potential that the web offers to an organisation like ours."

"We’ve got some really exciting plans for the web that’ll complement our offline activities," he announced, adding, "More people are doing sport than ever before. The website is an important tool for encouraging people to take up sport and physical activity. Welsh sport is really going places and with the likes of Nicole Cooke, David Davies and Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson becoming household names across the globe, we’re looking to use the web to further encourage and support the development of tomorrow’s Welsh champions."
