Our 4th Year at Number 1!

29 Sep 2005

For the fourth year in a row Sequence is officially recognised (by the new media industry publication - New Media Age) as the largest new media agency in Wales – and doing so by a significant margin of more than £500k against our nearest competitor. The full report is available online at NMA.

New Media Age is the only weekly magazine that covers interactive media, which essentially comprises of the internet, wireless internet and interactive TV - it's our industry bible. To be so high up the ratings really is a fantastic achievement, in summary – we're chuffed. The awards are survey-based and include details of turnover, key clients, number of staff employed and percentage of new media work.

Richard Baker, Sequence Managing Director comments "Taking a moment to analyse the results in a little more detail has really helped us get a much better understanding of how our business is performing in the market. For example, we’re now ranked as the 9th largest agency outside London which is a great achievement!"

In addition to our high regional ranking, Sequence have demonstrated a substantial 10th consecutive year of growth returning a 45% increase in turnover (for period 04/05) compared to an industry average of only 11%.

Mark Johnson, Creative Director at Sequence comments "In terms of our technical skills, we're now ranked a very respectable 12th in the UK, however we firmly feel that we are of a size that we can deliver creatively and technically outstanding solutions without compromise."

"The historical split between technical and creative can be no more, as the user simply doesn’t care about what makes a site tick; they just want to see a damn good, well crafted application". He concludes "Enterprise Content Management and technologies such as CSS and SIFR demand a good technical understanding, and it is our policy to make sure our designers have a sound technical knowledge, and indeed that our developers have a suitably strong creative awareness. You need both to be able to compete with the London agencies!"

Our MD, Richard Baker comments, "With the addition of Mark Johnson to our team and with the help of his creative expertise, many new contracts have been added. Further work with the likes of Storm Models and Cardiff University have been added to our long and wide ranging list of clients, such as the Welsh Development Agency and PHS plc. Thanks to all of our clients who've helped us stay at the top!"
