Envirowise is a government-funded programme offering UK businesses independent, confidential advice and support on practical ways to increase profits, minimise waste and reduce environmental impact.

Wanting to share knowledge and insight about environmentally sound and sustainable design, Envirowise commissioned us to create an application to encourage the UK design community to seriously consider the environmental impact of their own design practices and to be aware of best practice in the design industry in order to apply that knowledge to their own work.

The Flash-based “eco-design story” application centres around four video case studies identified by Envirowise as best-practice examples of how organisations have adopted eco-design solutions to achieve environmental benefits and reduce costs. Filmed and edited by Sequence, the video case studies are accompanied by image galleries and allow the featured companies to explain, in their own words, how they have benefited from applying the principles of eco-design as well as examples of why it makes good business sense to utilise eco-design solutions in manufacturing. 

Designed around an illustrated theme using simple, stylised icons, the application provides an informative and engaging platform that delivers important information and advice to help businesses not only be more environmentally aware but to also help them reduce costs and improve the quality of their products.
