Addison Lee Mobile app
Addison Lee is London’s largest minicab company. Founded in Battersea in 1975 they now carry 10 million passengers a year and courier more than 40,000 deliveries every month.
Following the success of their iPhone app which took over one million bookings in 2011 for a total value of more than £21m, Addison Lee commissioned Sequence to design and create a native Windows Phone 7 app to enable users to not only make minicab bookings but to also track their bookings direct from a Windows Phone device. The application provides fast access to existing bookings and allows the user to create a new booking from within the panoramic interface.
Through a seamless interface with Addison Lee's award winning proprietary dynamic scheduling software, new bookings can be created quickly and easily while allowing control over;
- pickup, via and destination addresses
- pickup date and time
- vehicle capacity
- payment method
Within the booking wizard the user is able to select addresses through a quick search, from the addresses of the device’s contacts and from within the local vicinity of the device. The user is provided with the cost and estimated time of the journey prior to them committing to the booking.
For existing bookings, the journey details are shown along with the status of the booking (driver on way, in-progress, etc.) and an interactive map of the journey. The map shows the pickup, via & destination addresses along with the probable route and the actual position of the minicab. The map is continually updated as the journey progresses. Cancelling and amending of bookings can also be carried out directly from within the application.
Bookings can be pinned to the Windows Phone Start Menu. The booking tiles display the booking details and live maps, which are updated as the journey progresses. Tapping the tile takes the user directly to the relevant booking rather than to the home screen of the application.
