Systems / Networks Administrator
The Networks department within Sequence is undergoing a radical review and is investing heavily in new technology and staff to support a substantial programme of work that will shape the future of Sequence into a more efficient and capable organisation.
With the continued growth of the company over the last 3 years and focus on delivering excellence has resulted in a demand for an additional team member to help us deliver and maintain our stunning projects. The successful candidate will receive the required training that will help with the continued development of their support skills.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Working with senior systems administrators that are responsible for the management of all the systems that make up the Sequence web hosting infrastructure, the successful applicant will be heavily involved in the following tasks;
- Demonstrable methodical approach to the analysis and resolution of technical faults.
- Must be willing to learn and adapt to the demands of a dynamic environment
- System monitoring, verifying the availability of all server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.
- Monitoring daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up.
- Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis.
- Investigate and troubleshoot issues as required (2nd line support).
- Upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
- Configure / add new services as necessary.
- Maintain operational and configuration procedures.
- Ensure that documentation and procedures are up to date
- Willingness to work outside of normal hours when the situation demands it. There is a requirement for the individual to provide out of hours on-call cover (on rota)
The successful applicant will be required to undertake a BPSS level Security Clearance to be able to perform key operational duties.
There is a strong commitment to training to help the successful candidate achieve progression.
Competencies:
- Microsoft Windows Server Products (Microsoft Windows Server (2003 and 2008): Candidate must be fully familiar with IIS6/7, Active directory and Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 - Certification and/or proven experience as a system administrator would be a distinct advantage.)
- Exposure to / experience of supporting Linux operating systems.
- Exposure and working knowledge of Cisco Firewall / Switching devices. (CCNA would be beneficial)
- Understanding and experience of managing virtual server environments (VMware/HyperV)
- Experience of creating and maintaining scripted updates to automate the basic tasks.
- Operating understanding of DNS management and networking protocols.
- Customer Service (Works well individually, within a team, to deliver an exceptional standard of customer service.)

Project Manager
We’re urgently looking to recruit a Junior/ Midweight Project Manager. As an NMA Top 100 Interactive Agency and Wales’ largest independent digital agency, we work on a range of digital projects for exciting clients ranging from mobile and social media applications to enterprise CMS-driven solutions.

You will be responsible for projects with budgets between £2k and £50k and be working with clients on projects that target national and international audiences. You will have experience of the successful delivery of a number of concurrent projects, preferably within an agency and be really committed to delivering amazing results. Ideally, you should have 1-3 years’ experience of project management and/or support for web applications.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Responsibility for the delivery of quality digital projects up to £50k in value, on time and budget.
- Providing leadership to a highly experienced team of professionals in disciplines including creative, front end, technical and other support teams.
- To proactively manage the specification and build of the project using tenacity and commercial awareness.
- To manage internal and external risks, being confident to challenge unclear requirements or aspirations.
- To be able to apply your experience of project management techniques – estimating, detailed project planning, progress tracking and risk management.
- To keep accurate, organised records of all aspects of the project, including management of PIDs, Functional Specs, Issue Logs, Risk Logs and Project Finance, providing a complete audit trail of decisions, project progress sign-offs.
- To stay abreast of digital technologies to a suitable standard for client management at executive level, empathising with the priorities and needs of a range of customers from public sector to private.li>
Mandatory skills:
- Ideally 1-3 years demonstrable experience of digital project management preferably in an agency environment.
- The ability to produce project documentation, including basic business analysis / requirements gathering.
- The ability to manage the production lifecycle from specification to live.
- A good understanding of digital technologies and the current marketplace.
- Proactive, customer focussed and able to act with urgency.
- Great communication skills and leadership potential.

Applications Developer
We are looking for an amazing Applications Developer to join our highly skilled applications team. Designing web based software in .net; the candidate will need to have a strong understanding of securing web applications and be able to carry out research, development and diagnosis of technical solutions.
Mandatory Skills
- 1 year development experience
- Full understanding of web application technology and the current marketplace
- Extensive web application development
- Databases (preferably Microsoft SQL Server)
- Microsoft .NET (preferably C#)
- Client-side technologies (XHTML, CSS, JavaScript)
Desirable Skills
- Experience of content management systems (Ideally SharePoint, Sitecore, Immediacy, Ektron or Umbraco)
- Experience of working directly with clients either delivering solutions or providing options for new developments
- An understanding of client time estimation and project management techniques
- Knowledge of accessibility and other compliance knowledge
- Knowledge of hosting architectures (web servers, firewalls, networks)
- Experience of Java / JSP development.
