Our innovative Windows Phone apps for Addison Lee and Snow + Rock have won us a coveted Microsoft Partner award for Business-to-Consumer mobile. Out of nearly 3000 worldwide entrants, we're only one of 7 UK businesses to win.
We are pleased to announce that we have won a worldwide award from Microsoft.
Awards were presented in multiple categories, with winners chosen from a set of nearly 3,000 entrants worldwide. We have been recognised for providing outstanding solutions and services in the Mobility Business-to-Consumer Application category and are one of only seven companies in the UK to receive one.
The award related to two mobile apps developed by us. The first was for London’s largest minicab firm Addison Lee, replicating their iPhone app which took bookings of over £21m in 2011. The booking wizard enables users to book cabs, check routes, estimate costs and gives real-time updates on the position of cabs.
The second, for Snow + Rock the UK's leading specialist winter sports and outdoor retailer, was one of the first created for the Windows 7 platform. The app provides detailed route tracking and mapping allowing users to create and share their own trails. It was chosen by Microsoft as a “showcase launch app” and featured as only one of three included in journalist’s handsets at the Windows Phone 7 UK launch.
Our team consistently creates innovative solutions using the latest platforms for a range of household name clients. What we do is ahead of the curve; and this is recognised by our clients and now internationally by Microsoft.“ Rich Baker, Sequence MD
Randy Kath, general manager, Windows Phone Division, Microsoft Corporation said: “We are pleased to honour Sequence as the Mobility Business-to-Consumer Application Partner of the Year for the apps they developed for Snow + Rock and Addison Lee. Sequence’s mobile applications enable collaboration and access to critical information on the go, all while providing an exceptional experience for consumers.”
We’re particularly excited by the new Windows 8 platform and have already produced apps for Addison Lee, Shazam and many more. These are available in the app store now. You can read more about our Windows 8 apps in our showcase.
