A cutting edge Web 2.0 Application for Horse Enthusiasts

Horse Hero had a vision, through the use of video they wanted to educate and connect people with a passion for horses. Turning their idea into a viable business model would require partnering with an agency that had a history of creating Web 2.0 platforms.

Before the partnership began, Horse Hero had shot a range of professional films at leading yards and venues with high profile horse competitors. It was our brief to take these films and create an interactive platform.

First and foremost the vision for this project was built around content and functionality. Throughout the project we constantly discussed the user experience with the team at Horse Hero. We agreed that to really connect this community of horse lovers we needed to expand the experience beyond films and integrate a range of other Web 2.0 solutions into the site. These extra features would include blogs, forums and the opportunity for users to upload their own videos.

With the specification in place our developers set to work, adding a high-level of creativity and contemporary style to the technically rich solution. They integrated flash video player into Sequence’s in-house content management system so that users could easily upload and play videos without too much buffering. They also integrated a secure payment model to allow users to purchase some of the more high profile films.

The finished version of www.horsehero.com was launched in May 2008 and is an excellent example of how Web 2.0 technology can connect and educate a community of users.
