Creating a European web presence for a leading medical brand
Biomet is a worldwide leader in the design and manufacture of products for joint replacement in hips, knees, shoulders and elbows. Represented by subsidiaries in 22 European countries, Biomet asked us to create a sophisticated online resource.
We began with an in-depth analysis of the legacy website. As there’s no sense reinventing the wheel, our aim was build on their existing successes and remove any elements that would hinder the user experience. We quickly concluded the main problem lay with their existing Content Management System (CMS); it was difficult to use and often resulted in patchy, inconsistent messages being published.
Therefore we developed a new cohesive web strategy to meet Biomet’s business objectives. Working closely with the Biomet team, we decided that the bespoke site should be built using Adobe’s Cold Fusion, as this technology was used by their US partners.
The net result is that this global medical brand now has a single CMS which can be easily used by those responsible for the site’s content, ensuring the swift roll out of new messages and products.
