At Sequence we love creating online content that is engaging and fun to use, and that is exactly what we did for the fans of the CBBC show, The Sarah Jane Adventures.
BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the BBC were developing a merchandise range for the children’s programme, The Sarah Jane Adventures. They came to us because they wanted a creative website to showcase these products. However they needed much more than a basic brochureware site, they wanted an online presence that would engage with the young viewers of the TV show.
During the consultation period we discussed a range of marketing assets that we could develop for the promotional site. It was collectively agreed that the creation of two new online games for the site would be a great way to keep visitors engaged.
With a brief we went away and developed number of game concepts that would fit in with the show’s aesthetic, characters and storyline. From the outset we decided that the games should be played quickly and continually with the aim of encouraging numerous repeat plays and sharing amongst friends.
The end result is a colourful website that showcases the range of merchandise available for the programme. Alongside the products, fans can watch trailers of past episodes and play the two new online games - Is Anybody There? and Slitheen Splatter. The site and games are yet another platform for fans to engage with The Sarah Jane Adventures and to share online content with their friends.
