At Sequence we like to create groundbreaking applications and that’s exactly what we did when we created PDA technology for Counties, a Christian charity.
Counties UK work to promote the Christian faith around the country. For their exhibition, LIFE, they wanted to enhance the user learning experience so they called us in to be their digital consultant. Aimed at children aged 9-11, LIFE is a mobile exhibition focusing on the life of Jesus. The exhibition is made up of four different zones with a variety of graphic panels in each zone.
Counties asked if we could transform the exhibition into a multimedia experience. They wanted every visitor to have a PDA (hand-held computer) which would display multimedia content relevant to the graphics. A challenging task but we knew we could deliver.
For the project we set up a dedicated team to research and develop this unique application. During our research we discovered that we were the first UK digital agency to develop this technology, so what we were creating was really cutting edge!
After thorough research we sourced the hardware through our contacts in America and our developers wrote software for the application. Using infra-red technology users are able to scan the graphics in each zone and a host of questions, video content and sound appears on their PDAs.
Since LIFE launched in the spring of 2006 it has received an overwhelmingly positive response from churches, teachers and pupils.
