The BBC has one of the largest pension schemes in the UK, with assets valued near £8bn and over 57,000 members; the BBC felt it was vital that a dedicated website was built.

The BBC Pension Scheme has been in existence for around 60 years, providing defined pension benefits to employees. To improve its ongoing support to its members, the BBC commissioned us to develop a dedicated website for the Scheme.

We were awarded the contract due to our proven ability to integrate web solutions with third party packages. As well creating a web application which could store a variety of documents and forms, the BBC asked us to incorporate the BBC’s own content management system into the build of the site.

Called My Pension, the site hosts an array of new insightful features including downloadable forms, guides and reports. There is a Member Guides section so users can find out more details about the different sections of the Scheme and there are also some quick links to the most frequently requested information. It is also the first time that information is not only accessible to people working in the BBC who can visit the intranet site but also to anyone who has access to the Internet. This includes BBC pensioners, deferred members and people thinking of joining the BBC.

The end result is an accessible and user-friendly website which will help to act as a major informational source for this worldwide organisation.
