We were initially called in to review the user interface of Credit Safe’s website, but we were soon asked to develop their brand and supporting style guide.
Established five years ago in the UK, Credit Safe is the leading online supplier of credit reports. Over 35,000 companies throughout Europe have benefited from their online business and customer reports. However, despite a thriving customer base Credit Safe has always been viewed as an industry outsider.
Credit Safe initially commissioned us to re-develop their website. Our project mangers and developers worked closely together to create a more linear structure to their site that would better support the new functionality. However despite these improvements the large corporations were still showing resistance, so Credit Safe decided to review their image and asked us if we would be their brand and marketing consultants. As a full services digital agency we relished the challenge.
To begin the branding process we spoke at length to staff, managers and customers. It was important that we really understood what the company was about and how they wanted to be perceived. From the consultation it was clear that we needed to bridge the established brand and corporate expectations and this was just a matter of building on unwritten standards that were already in place.
The new look was unveiled in early 2006, with the tagline "The Business Information Experts." The brand we created was designed to sit in both camps – the blue chip market as well as the old faithful client base. We backed up the new look with a set of detailed brand guidelines and we rolled out a 12-month marketing strategy.
